Purpose

To become part of a multi-tasking multi-skilled technical and production crew.

With specific responsibility for all lighting and video systems management, leading its related operations and tasks assigned, ordinary and extraordinary; troubleshooting and maintenance included.

Reports to: Venue Technical Manager

Direct reports to: Anystage Head of Production

Entertainment content

Two 40min shows in the Carousel Lounge. The shows contain a mix of singers, dancers, aerial, and ground-based circus performances.

Shows are performed twice nightly 6 days a week.

Provide technical and stage support for additional events in the venue.

Additional POP-UP entertainment, street theatre and a choreographed parade.

Responsibilities

To operate and where necessary programme the Grand MA lighting desk

To manage every lighting and video operation activity constantly monitoring and maintaining relevant infrastructure items to ensure industry standards aligned performances.

Understand fully the Pandora software and server operation and maintenance.

To execute daily checks on relevant equipment items reporting any technical deficiencies, loss of performance, damages to the Technical Manager

To execute and support maintenance of technical equipment assisting any other specialist’s maintenance operation, inspections, remote and assistance calls.

To lead handover to other team members and instruct where necessary, reporting any possible training needs that may become evident to maintain standards.

To train other technicians to operate the lighting desk.

To train to operate the sound system and the Automation control.

To support all the duties foreseen in the contract between MSC and the production company.

Provide handover to other team members and instruct where necessary. Keep the Venue Lead aware of any possible training needs that may become evident.

Support the team in assisting with extra events in the venue or other pop up and street theatre events delivered by the cast. This will include stage support, setting up equipment, basic sound, LX, AV support.

To support rescue and recovery operations. And all emergency procedures

Follow required onboard safety policy and procedures.

Carry out any other duties normally expected of a lighting technician.

Requirements

Professional Compliance:

Advanced ability to manage and operate high-end large-scale lighting and video systems.

Ability to manage industry standard video/lighting management platforms and protocols (MA, Purelink, Qlab, Coolux, Arkaos, Disguise, Novastar, Samsung, Blackmagic, Panasonic, DMX, UDP, RTP, RTSP, ARTNET). IT/Equipment expertise – User – MA Lighting desks.

Language Capability – English at C1 Level

This is a Seafarers Employment Agreement and hours of work are regulated under the Maritime Labour Convention.
