Purpose

To become part of a multi-tasking multi-skilled technical and production crew. Represent Anystage as a management onboard the ship.

To lead the assigned venue for show and event delivery and manage the show technical and performance team in liaison with the Venue Technical Manager and Cruise Director, Ship Technical Manager and the Anystage Shoreside support team.

Entertainment content

Two 40min shows in the Carousel Lounge. The shows contain a mix of singers, dancers, aerial, and ground-based circus performances.

Shows are performed twice nightly 6 days a week.

Provide operational support for all additional events in the venue.

Additional POP-UP entertainment, street theatre and a choreographed parade.

Responsibilities

To ensure show performances and all events in the Carousel Lounge are maintained and delivered at the highest standard of delivery both creatively and technically.

Liaise with the Cruise Director to agree and communicate the show schedule and other scheduled events including but not limited to street theatre performances or pop ups.

Manage the daily schedule for all team members including both the technical and performing team, ensuring good communication within the show team and other MSC departments as needed.

Ensure all team members are aware of their responsibilities to be punctual at all calls and the venue is prepared and on time for all shows and events.

Call all Automation, Stage, LX, AV and SND cues for all shows as directed by the show director. Call all Automation, Stage, LX, AV and SND cues for all events as needed.

Ensure the show calling script is maintained to the highest standard. Operate Q Lab Software.

Complete show reports on a daily basis and issue to MSC and Anystage as required.

Manage and lead all ongoing training and rehearsals, including understudy rehearsals.

Supervise and liaise with the Venue Technical Manager and MSC Technical Manager to manage the entertainment infrastructure and equipment; ensuring the correct equipment is in working order and reporting issues, malfunctions, loss of equipment, and following-up until issues are resolved in accordance with the correct procedures.

Organise all team member to assist with extra events in the venue or other pop up and street theatre events delivered by the performers.

Train and instruct at least one other technician to become the cover for Show Calling. Be prepared to train to cover the roles of other team members.

Ensure every show is recorded for show continuity purposes, and ensure all recording are filed appropriately and sent to Anystage when requested.

Responsible for scheduling Physio Sessions for the performers, in accordance with Anystage Physio policy and arrangements.

Deal with HR issues across the team in adherence to both ANYSTAGE policy and MSC policy

Ensure through the Technical Manager that emergency procedures are understood and adhered to and ready to be actioned at all times.

Follow required onboard safety policy and procedures.

Carry out any other duties normally expected of a Company Stage Manager

Requirements

Professional Compliance:

Experience in show calling of aerial shows

Extensive experience in Stage and Company Management Experience of Q Lab

Language Capability: English at C2 Level

This is a Seafarers Employment Agreement. Hour of work will be under the Maritime Labour Convention regulations.
